CHAPTER - 01
WHAT IS AN AI?
In general, an AI is a coded computer program that aims to simplify repetitive tasks, collect data and process it, thus attempting to reproduce the functioning of a human brain.
But AI also makes it possible to generate and create from data, to solve problems through learning called"Deep Learning" or deep learning, which uses the same functioning as neurons by processing several sub-layers of calculations and research in order to solve more complex problems. This process requires many algorithms with a multitude of data in order to be able to train. This type of AI has a predictive capacity.
Some AI like Midjourney or Dall-e 2, use the "machine-learning", term defined by its pioneer Arthur Samuel in 1959.
“field of study that gives computers
the ability to learn
without being explicitly programmed to learn”
It is an approach based on statistical analyzes allowing computers to improve their performance from data, and to solve tasks without being explicitly programmed for them.
In order to be able to make predictions, to have a better understanding of the process that generates this data. Unlike Deep Learning, this AI needs a minimum of human intervention in order to improve.
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF AI
1/ Intelligence anarrow artificial - ANI - Weak AI / Narrow AI:
VS'Eastfor the moment the only AI that exists to date and is already used by many applications and technologies.
Such as face recognition, SIRI, Google Assistant, Alexa, chatbot...
She does not have the ability to imitate humans but just to simulate behaviors in order to meet a specific need for which she has been programmed.
2/ Intelligence artificial general - AGI -Strong AI / Deep AI :
VSis an AI with intelligence that has the ability to mimic human intelligence and/or behaviors. She has opportunities to learn and apply her knowledge to solve problems. She would be able to act, think and understand like a human.
For the moment science has not created this type of AI, because it would be necessary to introduce consciousness as well as cognitive capacities, but also to learn from their own experience in order to be able to improve and learn from their mistakes..
3/ Artificial superintelligence - ASI :
In a hypothetical approach, it would be an intelligence and consciousness superior to the human species. It comes from science fiction stories in which the world is ruled by robots and where humans are totally enslaved to them.
An ASI would therefore be an AI superior in all respects to humans, whether emotional, physical, etc.
They would be aware of their own superiority and would therefore refuse to submit to their creator, hence the fact that this type of AI means the end of humanity.
